Hohenstein PRO-Care Certification

Industrial laundering and drying are among the most significant stress factors for workwear and rental workwear. High temperatures, mechanical stress, and the use of detergents and care products can place considerable strain on materials and finishes. To ensure a long life, textiles must withstand these processes continuously without any loss of quality. Stability in shape, colour fastness, and the retention of functional properties play a crucial role in this regard.

Our products have been tested by the Hohenstein Institutes for their suitability for industrial washing and drying processes in accordance with DIN EN ISO 15797 and certified with the PRO label in accordance with DIN EN ISO 30023.

Pro-Care Symbol

Due to the wide range of industrial care processes, DIN EN ISO 15797 defines standardized tests to assess the durability of textiles under commercial washing and drying processes.

The test results are illustrated using the pictograms defined in DIN EN ISO 30023:

All products were tested using the two drying procedures described below:

Procedure A:
Tumble Drying

The sewing and embroidery thread is dried until an exhaust air temperature of 90°C is reached.

Procedure B:
Tunnel and Cabinet Finishing

The sewing and embroidery thread is dried until a temperature of 135–140°C is measured on the textile. Once this temperature is reached, the drying process is stopped.

The number in the box of the washing symbol corresponds to one of the eight washing procedures described in ISO 15797. 2 and 8 for white and coloured garments.

Test Criteria

In the absence of normative requirements for wash resistance, the assessment was carried out based on the Hohenstein Quality Standard for Rental Textiles:

Testing Parameter:
Colour fastness
Requirement of the Hohenstein Quality Standard:
Colour fastness to washing ≥ Grade 3–4
Testing Parameter:
Dimensional change
Requirement of the Hohenstein Quality Standard:
The dimensional change must be appropriate for the processed fabric and, after deducting fabric shrinkage, must not exceed ±1.0%
Testing Parameter:
Loss of strength
Requirement of the Hohenstein Quality Standard:
< 10.0% after the washing and drying cycles

All tested products successfully met all three testing criteria even after 30 washing and drying cycles.

Applications

The certified threads are the ideal choice for a wide range of demanding applications. They combine outstanding material properties with the highest level of processing quality, providing reliable solutions even under challenging conditions.
